Our Mission
Amigos de Patzún creates educational opportunities for impoverished students in rural Guatemala. We offer competitive scholarships to middle and high school students who would not be able to continue their education past sixth grade. Amigos de Patzún is predicated on the belief that education is a basic human right, and can be a catalyst of systemic change and development
Scholar Profile
Argentina Tzuquen is a 15 year old girl, with a dream of becoming a nurse. She comes from a rural village in the Guatemalan highlands, where health services are scarce. There is one health post for a community of small villages to serve 5,000 people, and the health post is staffed by one nurse, who only comes once a month. Read More >>
