ADP Director Anacleto Catu

Amigos de Patzún is run by a local teacher, Anacleto Catu. Anacleto received a CASS scholarship in the mid-90s to study in the United States and is deeply committed to advancing impoverished populations through education. He runs all in-country financial and administrative aspects of the program.

Peace Corps Volunteers living in Patzun provide continuous administrative and academic support to scholarship recipients. Volunteers tutor students and coordinate retreats with scholars and their families.

Stateside, ADP is run by a board of directors

  • Karen Towers, President
  • Paul Butki, Vice-President
  • Jessica Daly, Secretary
  • Barbara Butki, Financial Officer
  • Joel Daly, Chairperson
  • Benjamin McDonald, Chairperson
  • Sue Carrier, Chairperson

ADP is run exclusively by volunteers who generously donate their time and expertise. Because administrative costs are virtually non-existent, 95% of donations go directly to scholars.
